Prosthetics

Restoration of full functionality and aesthetics to your teeth thanks to precision combined with top quality materials.
Loss of teeth is not only an aesthetic problem, it is a serious disorder that can lead to a decrease in chewing capacity, temporomandibular joints and even gastrointestinal disorders. In case of missing teeth, lateral teeth may bend, opposite teeth may protrude or bone atrophy may occur. This may also cause more expensive dental treatment in the future. Very often, the source of persistent headache is an abnormal bite being a result of missing teeth. That is why preventive treatment undertaken to prevent tooth loss, orthodontic treatment to correct malocclusion, prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases and early replacement of lost teeth are so important. Nowadays, in the era of rapid development of dental materials and techniques, prosthodontists have a wide range of techniques for the aesthetic restoration of lost teeth at their disposal, while they ensure the proper functioning of the masticatory organ.

With beautiful teeth we can smile every day, we don't have to be shy in public institutions or at work, at business parties or family gatherings.

If you are dissatisfied with your smile, just contact our practice. The selection of the replacing a lost tooth(teeth) method depends on many factors, including particularly the type of the defect, the condition of the dentition and individual clinical conditions for each patient. Dentists cooperating with us are experienced professionals. They will select the appropriate solutions to fill in the missing teeth easily, taking into account your situation (crowns on implants, bridges, dentures on telescopes, clamps, etc.). Thanks to digital dentistry it is possible to make a permanent restoration and fix it in the patient's oral cavity within one day.

Prosthetic restorations are divided into permanent restorations, i.e. those that are permanently cemented on pillars, both own teeth or implants and it is not possible to remove them freely, as well as removable restorations that may be taken out from the oral cavity.

Permanent prosthetic restoration includes:

All-ceramic veneers

- is an aesthetic prosthetic reconstruction of front teeth. Indications for veneers include tooth fractures, single and strongly discoloured dead teeth, front teeth with extensive fillings, strong discolouration impossible to remove by whitening, extensive damage to the enamel, diastema closure, improvement of the shape of rotated teeth. Patients obtain an excellent aesthetic effect with minimal tissue invasion.

Crowns

- It is a permanent filling replacing the crown part of a tooth. Damages and weakening of tooth crown with extensive or multiple caries, trauma or inefficient numerous or extensive fillings are an absolute indication for crowning a tooth, whereas other indications include correction of abnormalities in the colour, shape and position of teeth, correction of phonetics or aesthetics. The ongoing progress in dentistry has contributed to the development of the materials used, so if there are indications for the use of single crowns, you can choose from all-ceramic pressed, mass-fired, CAD/CAM crowns and more.

All-ceramic bridges

- is a permanent filling connected with natural teeth or tooth roots (implants in some cases) with a span, i.e. a part imitating a lost tooth and taking over functions thereof. The purpose of prosthetic treatment with the use of fixed bridges is to restore the disturbed functions caused by the loss of teeth.
Meryland-type bridges provide the possibility of filling in single missing teeth without the need to grind adjacent teeth.

The removable prosthetic restoration includes:

Skeletal dentures

- The so-called "non-settling prosthetic restoration" which takes up relatively little space in the oral cavity and is mainly based on own teeth by means of clamps and thorns. Chewing forces are mainly transmitted through the dental ligaments - hence the periodontal name. An aesthetic form of reconstruction of missing back teeth (lack of teeth in the lateral section) is a combination of prosthetic crowns and skeletal dentures with the use of clasps. Thanks to such a solution the metal clasps are invisible and the maintenance of the denture is much stronger and more comfortable.

Acrylic dentures

- so-called settling prosthetic restoration occupies a considerable amount of space in the oral cavity, where chewing forces are only transmitted through the mucous membrane –hence the mucosal name. This type of dentures includes comprehensive dentures to replace all missing teeth.

Nylon dentures

Dentures made of nylon are an innovative solution in removable dentures. The most important features of these dentures include high flexibility, durability and cosmetics (nylon clamps are used in a colour similar to that of the gums instead of noticeable metal clamps). This type of material can be used in dentures for dentition and mucous membranes.

Mixed work - a combination of a removable and a fixed restoration

Performance of a mixed work, i.e. a combination of a removable and a fixed restoration is very often the best solution. It consists in making crowns with snaps or clamps for pillar teeth and making a fixings matrix in the denture. In this way we obtain a good cosmetic effect (invisible metal parts) and much more comfort in using the whole prosthetic restoration. In case of significant tooth shortages, a good solution is to make telescopic crowns (single metal "caps" for pillar teeth + cosmetic parts of crowns integrated with the denture). Depending on the number of these deficiencies and the individual condition of the oral cavity, an appropriate restoration method should be used.

For prosthetic work we use the Kodak Cs 3600 intraoral scanner. It gives the possibility to work in Cad/Cam system. In our internal Amann Girrbach's laboratory we perform most of the prosthetic works, thanks to which we minimise the time needed to perform prosthetic works.
